The Lidji Firm has compiled some resources for anyone who’s been involved in an accident in the state of Texas. Resources for car accident victims
- Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
MADD offers supportive services for those that have survived drunk driving accidents, including support groups and important information on victims’ rights.
Resources for emotional and physical support
- Texas Health and Human Services Commission
Provides families with numerous resources for finding help with rent, utilities, food, and even healthcare. This also includes temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) which provides money to help with bills for six months. - Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
A resource that can provide services and emotional support for individuals who have a permanent disability due to an accident.

An organization dedicated to improving the lives of those suffering from TBI. They offer resources designed for helping with insurance needs and locating physicians for your needs. - Texas Brain Injury Alliance
A comprehensive website full of resources for survivors, their families, and caregivers. These resources include information on disability, rehabilitation, and advocacy/legal rights. - Office of Acquired Brain Injury
A division of Texas Health and Human Services, this office provides support for brain injury survivors and access to local support groups across the state. - Texas Workforce Commission
Offers services to help adults with brain injuries or other disabilities find a place in the workforce. - Mary Lee Foundation
This Texas organization offers a program specifically for brain injury survivors. This includes workforce training and therapy to help survivors improve their lives.

TDI has a Consumer Help Line (1-800-252-3439) and can offer mediation with your health care provider on a payment plan. Texans with disabilities may apply for benefits at their local Social Security Office (1-800-772-1213). - Texas Health Resources
Faith-based, nonprofit health care system that maintains a policy to provide care for individuals in need of financial assistance. Patients who are unable to pay for some or all of their treatment may apply for financial assistance. - Texas Health and Human Services Commission

Foreclosure assistance counseling for homeowners is available from state Housing and Urban Development offices. - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
TANF offers short-term grants to families below both resource and income limits set for the program. There is also a one-time TANF for families that are in a short-term crisis. - Texas SNAP Food Benefits Program
State resource that helps people with lower income buy food for a limited time. - Texas Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program
Utilizes the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to help residents in need pay utility and air conditioning bills, and for energy conservation measures. - Salvation Army
